"I love being around animals. I feel a strong connection and magnetic pull towards them, and I am only beginning to learn how to tap into that. I always want to be moving in a direction that strengthens this gift, while simultaneously helping others do the same."

My Why

MEET THE TEAM

Kate Grimm

Founder and Trainer

While I have spent my life surrounded by animals, I officially started working in the industry in 2015, after obtaining a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business Management. I gained experience working in multiple dog boarding and daycare facilities prior to, and while growing, Sigh of Relief.

In the spring of 2017, Sigh of Relief was opened for dog walking. I was accredited as an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer (ABCDT) in 2018. Since then, I have continued my education in training and dog behavior by working with trainers who truly encompass the meaning of holistic dog training.

My goal is to use all of my knowledge not only in training, but throughout every service that Sigh of Relief offers.

Kelsey

Assistant Manager

As a kid I remember 'a dog' always being at the very top of every one of my wish lists. I knew I was ready; I'd watched every program that Animal Planet had ever produced and could quote just about anything from that big book on different dog breeds. But with each year and each 'no' that went by I accepted that if I couldn't care for my own, I needed to find a way to care for yours. It all started with occasionally house and pet-sitting for friends and neighbors and by 2017 I'd been given the opportunity to enter the industry professionally. In 2020 I joined the Sigh of Relief family and working alongside Kate to help enrich the lives of your pets has really been the greatest gift of all!

There's not much I'll do if I can't do it with my dog, Harper. Hikes in the woods are our favorite, after all! But while she sleeps you might find me reading, writing, cooking, drinking way too much coffee and telling myself that I should really watch that one show that's been on my watch list for the last four years.

Amanda

Walker- Fayetteville and Manlius

I got into this role after struggling with some health issues that lead me to scale back from my previous job. I've always loved dogs, and it seemed like the perfect fit! I moved into this community about three years ago after my husband and I got married. I always knew this was where we would end up, and the people I've met along the way have been nothing but welcoming.

When I'm not walking dogs, you can find me reading, working out, or traveling.
